All Abyss of Fate Janusopolis Golden Scapegoat Puzzles | Tutorial and Puzzle Basics
In the region known as “Abyss of Fate” within Janusopolis, you’ll find more Golden Scapegoat challenges than any other area in Honkai: Star Rail. Specifically, this location offers 5 intriguing puzzles for you to conquer. However, it’s essential to know that you won’t be able to access all of them until you’ve successfully completed the Oronyx’s Scales enigma first. Here’s a heads up about these challenges in case they’re unfamiliar: These puzzles are designed in such a way that you’ll need to solve them to progress further.
You’ll find the Golden Scapegoat riddles signified in the main world by statues of golden goat heads. To start these puzzles, simply engage with them.
In terms of the game’s objective, you need to guide your Golden Scapegoat to travel right up to the altar where it can be lit.
As a captivated observer, I find myself transformed into an intriguing spectator when, following a series of my own actions, a reflection of myself emerges. This echo of my past movements mirrors my steps and then remains motionless.
If you perform the sequence right, right, left, left four times in a row, the shadow will appear after the second left move. Then, the pattern repeats itself, and the shadow remains static. But be careful not to bump into your shadow or else you’ll need to start the puzzle all over again!
At times, you may have to tread on colorful pressure pads called Ancient Crystalline Controllers which serve as stepping stones to the altar. You’ll often find that solving many of these puzzles necessitates arranging your steps so that your shadow replica stands on the pad, thus unlocking the path for you.
Building on the fundamentals we’ve established, let’s dive into unraveling and solving each and every Golden Scapegoat puzzle in this region!
“Abyss of Fate” Janusopolis – Golden Scapegoat Puzzle #1
You can find our first Golden Scapegoat in the puzzle room south of the Silent Shroud Space Anchor.
Once you step into the room, activate the time-travel function of the book to set it to dawn. Then, navigate yourself towards the bottom right corner, the spot previously highlighted.
In this puzzle, you have only 5 chances or steps before your counterpart emerges. To begin, simply advance 5 steps to the right.
This will take you to the right bottom corner of the puzzle, on the lowest level possible.
Whenever your hidden aspect manifests, take four steps to your left and ascend a ladder. During this journey, you’ll tread upon a blue platter. This action enables your shadow to reach the golden plate, thereby halting its movement.
Now you just need to continue right to fall onto the altar and complete the puzzle!
“Abyss of Fate” Janusopolis – Golden Scapegoat Puzzle #2
In the gaming world, I’ve got another Gold Scapegoat riddle for you! This one lies nestled in the southeastern corner on the F2 level. You’ll find it right after the extended puzzle chamber.
You’ll find a golden plate after taking 7 steps forward, then 3 steps to the right. After that, take 4 steps to your left.
After completing those steps, you will find yourself to the right side of the entrance when your shadow falls to your left. Then, walk to your right three more times as your shadow leads the way.
As your shadow touches the golden pedestal, you’ll find yourself stepping onto it too. This will cause you to stumble directly towards the altar. All you need to do now is take a single step to your left, and this part of the journey will be complete.
“Abyss of Fate” Janusopolis – Golden Scapegoat Puzzle #3
The “Golden Scapegoat” riddle is situated in the southwest area of grid square F1. You can get to it quite conveniently by heading west from the “Everdream Game” marking point.
This time, there are plenty of ladders around, but after just 6 steps, a shadow will show up. So, just take your steps 6 times to the right.
As a gamer, I found that when I land on the golden obstacle, my own shadow materializes. After that, take one step to the left and start climbing a ladder, going up then down, repeatedly. In my gaming experience, my shadow will proceed forward, fall onto the golden platform, and come to a halt.
Now, just move to the left and go down the ladder to step on the golden plate.
The shadow is going to land on a blue dish, uncovering the blue stage essential for getting to the altar. Simply head right and ascend the ladders to arrive at the altar immediately.
“Abyss of Fate” Janusopolis – Golden Scapegoat Puzzle #4
The fourth Golden Scapegoat conundrum we have now is located within the Scales chamber of Oronyx, positioned right above the Everdream Gate’s Space Anchor.
To solve the Golden Scapegoat riddle, navigate to the room when it’s set to Dawn and proceed to the corner farthest from you. You’ll find the Golden Scapegoat near the initial terminal of Zagreus’ Hand that you interacted with during the Oronyx Scales puzzle.
On this occasion, there are 5 moves you need to make before the shadow joins in. Please execute the following sequence: right, then left, followed by another left, then right again, and finally left once more. As soon as you set foot on the golden platform, the shadow will materialize.
As soon as the shadow emerges, perform this series of actions: move left, then right, then left again, followed by a right move, and finally another left move. By doing so, you’ll find yourself standing on the golden platform directly above where the shadow will step on the golden plate.
You’ll fall right onto the altar and light it up!
“Abyss of Fate” Janusopolis – Golden Scapegoat Puzzle #5
In the realm of Honkai: Star Rail 3.0, I found myself standing before the final Golden Scapegoat enigma in the Janusopolis area known as the Abyss of Fate. This particular puzzle was nestled within Oronyx’s Scales chamber, a familiar setting from my previous encounters. To solve it, I had to sneak behind the scales when the room was set to the Dawn phase.
Right off the bat, you’ll see many golden dishes here! Additionally, you have nine chances to make your move before the shadow figure emerges. Don’t worry, it might seem complex, but it really isn’t! Here are your nine moves: Move right seven times, then move left once, and finally, move right one more time.
You’ll be one step right of the lone golden plate on the bottom right when your shadow appears.
As soon as you see the shadow, simply move towards the very edge on your left side. There’s no need for concern about falling – you’ll make it to the altar well before the shadow completes its journey!
