Honkai Star Rail is heading to a new planet called Planarcadia in version 4.0! Here’s a rundown of what’s coming.
Okay, so Honkai Star Rail just dropped a ton of info about the next planet, Planarcadia, and I’m hyped! Apparently, we’re gonna meet a bunch of new characters, and even some familiar ones who’ve been changed by this group called Aha and the Elation. Planarcadia is coming in version 4.0, and it looks amazing – the devs said they took inspiration from classic games and arcades, so expect a really colorful and exciting adventure. Definitely not a dull moment in sight!
Planarcadia in Honkai Star Rail 4.0
Following a lengthy stay in version 3.8, the Astral Express is now traveling to Planarcadia. This new world draws heavy inspiration from arcades, and you can see that influence in its bright, screen-filled landscapes.
The recent special livestream revealed gameplay that feels similar to classic games like Super Mario Bros.! This seems especially appropriate given the planet is nicknamed “Aha’s playground.”
When the Astral Express arrives, the crew will join the “Phantasmoon Games,” a competition where they’ll have a chance to be named “Aeon for a Minute.”
Planarcadia is where Himeko grew up. Stories say the planet was once a flat, canvas-like world, but the Independent Planetary Commission (IPC) reshaped it into the lively entertainment center we’ll soon explore.
As expected, the livestream revealed that Honkai Star Rail is partnering with Fortnite, featuring the characters Kafka and Blade.
Path of Elation, new characters for Honkai Star Rail 4.0 and beyond!
This update introduces a new way to play! The Path of Elation is joining the game with two new characters: Sparxie and Yao Guang.
Okay, so Sparxie is this super powerful 5-star Fire character, and honestly, she’s the most popular streamer in Planarcadia. What’s cool is she actually starts streaming during battles! You can send her gifts – basically Skill Points – and she’ll create these awesome attacks called Punchlines that really boost the whole team’s damage. If you’re hoping to pull for her, her banner is available for the first half of the new patch.
Yao Guang is a new 5-star character and a key advisor to the Xianzhou Alliance, serving as a support, particularly for characters who also follow the Path of Elation. She’s Fu Xuan’s mentor and the second new character added in this update.
More characters are on the way, including Evanescia, a character known from the Honkai series, as well as Nihilux and Ashveil.
Out of these three, only Ashveil is confirmed to be playable by Honkai Star Rail version 4.1.
Honkai Star Rail version 4.0, launching on February 13, 2026, will introduce Sparxie, Yao Guang, and the entire planet of Planarcadia as playable areas.
