Among the numerous video games debuted or launched during the past ten years, Hollow Knight Silksong stands out as one of the hardest to keep track of. It was first unveiled in 2019 and last surfaced in 2022, leaving fans of the game eager for any updatesand a recent adjustment to its SteamDB page offers a brief taste.
On March 24, modifications were made to the Steam metadata of the game listed on Silksong’s SteamDB page. Notably, the game description now features an opt-in option for Nvidia GeForce Now service, and a significant update in the store page’s legal text that shifts the copyright year from 2019 to 2025.
The recent development has revived expectations that the Silksong might be showcased during the April 2 Nintendo Switch 2 Direct livestream, since there were whispers of its connection with the Switch 2 unveiling in January. A month down the line, excitement among fans peaked when they noticed that the game’s eShop page inexplicably vanished, only to mysteriously resurface later on.
The debut trailer for Hollow Knight Silksong premiered during the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct event, with the announcement that it would be available on both Nintendo Switch and PC. Later, at the Xbox Showcase in June 2022, the game was confirmed to be part of Xbox Game Pass. Additionally, official PlayStation social media accounts have announced that it will also release for PlayStation consoles.
As of now, the Nintendo Switch 2 Presentation is set to begin on April 2 at 6 AM Pacific Time/9 AM Eastern Time. However, neither Team Cherry nor Nintendo has given any confirmation about Silksong’s participation in this event.
