Players quickly noticed several odd things in the image, like a new character they hadn’t seen before, facing away from the viewer, and a letter mentioning “north” – a location fans have long speculated will be featured in a future expansion of the game.

Either something is really happening, or Capcom is expertly playing a prank on Dragon’s Dogma fans.

Some people are speculating the downloadable content might be revealed during this week’s rumored State of Play presentation, but it’s important to remember Capcom has a lot on its plate at the moment.

The company has already launched three successful games this year, is developing an expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, and is expected to announce a release date for Onimusha: Way of the Sword shortly.
