Highguard, a new PvP shooter, had a rough launch with player numbers falling quickly. Now, the game’s website is currently unavailable, causing concerns that the game might be shutting down. Fortunately, the developers have issued a statement addressing the situation.
Highguard initially attracted almost 100,000 players when it launched, but its popularity has since declined dramatically. Currently, less than 1,000 people are playing the game.
After recent layoffs and issues with the game’s website, players worried that Highguard might be closing. Now, someone from the development team has addressed those concerns.
Highguard dev reassures players it isn’t being shut down
I just saw a response from one of the Highguard developers on Discord. They said they’re not sure when they’ll get around to fixing the website, but it needs a major overhaul – basically, they need to move it to a new system and make it much simpler. They admitted the website already has a bad reputation, so it’s not a huge priority right now. Their main focus is getting updates and new content into the game to make things better, which is good to hear!

The developer explained that the website being unavailable doesn’t indicate any problems with the game itself. They’re currently focused on releasing updates, adding new content, and working to increase the number of players.
We don’t know when the website will be fixed, but the game itself is still safe and will continue to be available.
