Hideo Kojima Says Stealth-Action Game Physint Isn’t Coming Any Time Soon

Upcoming next month is Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, along with other projects such as a Death Stranding film and OD. Given these developments, it’s understandable that Hideo Kojima has been rather occupied lately. A future project by Kojima that fans are eagerly anticipating is Physint, which marks his return to the stealth-action genre. However, according to Kojima himself, this project will require some time before it comes to fruition.

In an interview with French outlet Le Film Francais and reported by VGC, Kojima discussed various projects he’s currently engaged in, including the Death Stranding film that is being produced by A24 at present. When asked about his interest in additional film-based ventures, his reply might disappoint fans eager for Physint, as it remains “five or six years” off.

In an interview, Kojima mentioned that along with Death Stranding 2, he’s also working on a project called Physint, which could take another five or six years. After completing this, he might consider venturing into filmmaking as a tribute to his love for cinema and because he feels it would be the right time, given his advancing age.

During a PlayStation State of Play broadcast in January 2024, Kojima unveiled Physint among several announcements, also debuting a gameplay trailer for Death Stranding 2. Since then, no further details have been disclosed about the espionage project by any official sources.

In the meantime, Kojima’s upcoming venture is titled “Death Stranding 2: On The Beach”, set to debut on June 26 for PlayStation 5.
