In simple terms, Wildgate, an eagerly awaited game for fans of team-oriented PvP games, has had its upcoming features revealed by developer Moonshot Games. According to a recently unveiled plan, the team intends to keep the game vibrant with regular events and seasonal content updates post-launch.
After wrapping up its open beta phase, Moonshot has disclosed the modifications and new elements planned for Wildgate upon its official launch next week. On day one, Wildgate will roll out improvements in player progression, enhancements to matchmaking, options for in-game cosmetic purchases, and a deluxe edition. The roadmap indicates that advancement upgrades will incorporate an infamy system, more achievable milestones and objectives, and the introduction of scrap as rewards.
After the initial release, the developer plans to debut Season 1. This seasonal update will bring in fresh in-game goods such as weapons and cosmetic items, a fresh prospector, and additional content. The studio also intends to incorporate bi-weekly “anomaly events,” which are enhancements to the game. As outlined on the roadmap, “These anomaly events can vary from new environmental risks to new upgrade points for hardpoints to new points of interest. Once integrated, they will become permanent features in the game’s procedural system.
Dreamhaven, along with Moonshot, have confirmed that additional seasons beyond the current ones are in development. These upcoming seasons will introduce fresh zones within the game, as well as an array of new anomalies, weapons, gear, and cosmetic items. Furthermore, there are plans for ongoing post-launch updates that won’t just include seasonal drops; mid-season patches will focus on incorporating player feedback to make improvements and enhancements.
On July 22, Wildgate is set for release on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. The game retails at $30. A significant portion of the game’s seasonal content will be accessible free of charge for all players, including new weapons, equipment, characters, and anomalies. An upgraded “adventure pass” can be purchased during each season to obtain extra cosmetic items, although the price for this has not been disclosed by the developers yet.
