Helluva Boss Season 3’s Release Gap Breaks Series Record

After finishing its second season in December 2024, the show moved from YouTube to Amazon Prime Video, joining its companion series *Hazbin Hotel*. While Amazon has ordered both a third and fourth season, the exact release dates haven’t been revealed yet.

At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, fans learned that new episodes of *Helluva Boss* might not arrive for quite a while. Creator Vivienne Medrano, also known as Vivziepop, is currently working on Season 2 of *Hazbin Hotel*, which means production on *Helluva Boss* will likely be paused for a bit.

During a Comic-Con discussion TopMob participated in, Vivienne Medrano shared an update on the release of *Helluva Boss* Season 3, suggesting fans might have to wait longer than ever before.

The show’s creator said fans will have to wait longer for new episodes than they ever have before, estimating the gap between releases will be around three to four months.

I don’t know if new episodes will be released continuously, but we want to finish more of the season, ideally the whole thing, before releasing anything. This means the wait will be longer than people are used to. However, I believe a longer wait with a more complete release will ultimately be better for both the show and the viewers, compared to the previous 3-4 month gaps between episodes.

She mentioned the show is already well underway with production, meaning despite a potentially lengthy wait, fans can be assured that progress is being made.

This comment about a longer wait confirms what Medrano said earlier about the show. Back in December 2024, she told fans that Season 3 would take a significant amount of time to arrive.

Why Is Helluva Boss Season 3 Going To Take So Long?

A major drawback of *Helluva Boss* Season 2 was its incredibly slow release schedule. The season began in July 2022, but the finale didn’t arrive until December 2024 – with some breaks between episodes lasting as long as six months.

Although the long wait for Season 3 is frustrating for fans eager to see what happens next, it’s likely a good thing in the end.

Vivienne Medrano, also known as Vivziepop, wants to have a larger portion of the show completed before its release, hoping to avoid the long delays fans experienced with the second season.

The production of Season 3 is also affected by the current environment. Even with Amazon Prime Video now co-producing the show with SpindleHorse, Medrano explained that fans will still have to wait a considerable amount of time for its release.

Now that *Helluva Boss* is produced by Amazon Studios and A24 – the same companies behind *Hazbin Hotel* – Vivienne Medrano and her team can’t release new episodes as spontaneously as before. They now have to follow a content schedule, which might be why fans are waiting longer for new content.
