Hellblade 2 Lands On PS5 In August With An Enhanced Edition

Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga, the highly-anticipated sequel, will launch on PlayStation 5 on August 12 as a special edition. This new version comes with upgrades for both graphics and gameplay, an improved photo mode, plus developer commentary. Simultaneously, Xbox Series X|S and PC users can get these updates for free!

Microsoft states that the Enhanced Edition offers a performance mode aimed at maintaining a smooth 60 frames per second (fps), and on PC, players can crank up the graphics to the “Very High” setting. Additionally, the game will be verified for compatibility with Steam Deck upon the release of the Enhanced Edition.

For those who are PS5 owners eager to immerse themselves in the complete narrative, consider purchasing the deluxe edition of Hellblade 2 at $70. This special edition includes an enhanced console version of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice and its original soundtrack. If you happen to already own the PS4 version, you can update it to the PS5 version free of charge.

Players get another chance to confront the wicked Dark Rot in a new difficulty level, offering an extra testing ground. In the enhanced photo mode, various updates have been applied, with a fresh “Motion” section introduced for capturing customized cinematic videos.

The additional commentary by the developers seems captivating, featuring around four hours of conversations from the game’s actors, Ninja Theory members, and others who contributed to portraying Senua’s psychosis experience authentically. It’s uncertain whether Tameem Antoniades, the studio founder who is no longer with the company, is part of it.

In recent times, Microsoft has seen a string of successful launches on the PlayStation 5, with several top-selling games for April 2025 in the US being their publications. Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle have been popular choices on Sony’s system, and Hellblade 2 isn’t the only game slated for release in August.

Alongside Gears of War Reloaded (launching on August 26), the game offers cross-platform compatibility for both cross-play and cross-progression across all supported platforms at launch.
