At present, viewers are left with a single, enigmatic hint as to the true content of Episode 4. Back in August, it was disclosed that the title is ‘Journey,’ which, given the series’ captivating narrative, could signify any number of possibilities within its established storyline.
The title may hint at Charlie’s struggle following his diagnosis of an eating disorder, a topic that seems likely to be explored in the early episodes of Season 3.
Alternatively, the narrative might focus on the romantic journey of Nick and Charlie, detailing their experiences during prolonged separation and, ultimately, their heartfelt declaration of love for one another.
One fact we can confirm is that Episode 4 could serve as a pivotal moment in Heartstopper Season 3, given that it’s been disclosed that an extensive amount of time was dedicated to filming intimate scenes for this forthcoming episode.
During an interview with The Times, actor Kit Connor disclosed that they’ve been filming intimate scenes. They filmed a substantial amount of material for these scenes. However, only a small portion was used in the series. In total, they spent approximately 7 hours shooting these intimate scenes.
He explained further, “We’ve been proceeding cautiously, like a baby taking its first steps. In Season 1, an intimacy coordinator was always present to ensure our comfort levels, particularly when it came to holding hands.
At this moment, it’s uncertain precisely which episodes from Season 3 will include these scenes, but based on Locke’s remarks, the midpoint seems to be a significant turning point towards something far more sensual.
