A data breach at a healthcare company could impact hundreds of thousands of individuals whose personal information may have been compromised.
Innovative Scientific Solutions recently experienced a cyberattack that impacted the personal information of 143,842 people. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights reported the breach occurred on a network server.
Last September, the company discovered a cybersecurity issue affecting some of its systems. They immediately started working with outside experts to investigate if any personal information was accessed or stolen.
After a thorough security review in March, the company discovered that personal information may have been accessed or taken by someone without permission. People whose information was potentially affected started receiving notifications on April 7, 2026.
Murphy Law Firm stated that the data breach may have exposed sensitive personal information, such as names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and financial details like bank account and credit card numbers. Medical and health insurance information may also have been affected. Innovative Scientific Solutions reports that, so far, there’s no evidence of any resulting fraud.
The company is providing free credit monitoring to people whose Social Security numbers were in the files affected by the data breach. They are also working to improve their security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
