As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Stalker 2 is indeed a fascinating addition to the series, yet it comes with its fair share of technical hiccups. The HDR issue, for instance, has left me scratching my head more than once. While it miraculously works in fullscreen mode for me (no windows, remember?), it’s like looking through a pair of milk-tinted glasses when I do manage to enable it. So, if you’re after that HDR experience, be prepared for a bit of a blurry journey.
Stalker 2 is a good game – our review proves that. However, at the same time, the newest installment of the Stalker series is also a buggy one (our tech review shows that clearly). While issues with performance or shader compilation are quite common in other games too, there are also more unique ones. For example, in the new GSC Game World’s production, there are HDR issues. Some players can’t turn it on, others can’t see a thing.
HDR Not Working in Stalker 2
It appears some users are having trouble enabling HDR. In our situation, it functions optimally in full-screen mode (without a window). Unfortunately, this isn’t perfect. Our team member Mikolaj mentioned that this feature dimmed his gameplay experience (or gave it a “milky” appearance, as he described it himself). Consequently, even if you activate it, the outcome might not be optimal. Some may question whether HDR is worth the effort.
Stalker 2 Is Too Dark
As a gamer immersed in the gritty world of Stalker 2, I’ve noticed some players complaining about the game being too dark. It seems that one reason for this (at least partially) lies within the High Dynamic Range (HDR). Turning off HDR could potentially alleviate this issue.
