HBO Orders Limited Series ‘DTF St. Louis’ Starring David Harbour & Jason Bateman

As a seasoned film enthusiast with a penchant for unraveling the intricacies of narrative arcs, I can hardly contain my excitement at the news of HBO greenlighting “DTF St. Louis” starring David Harbour and Jason Bateman!

It’s been confirmed that HBO will produce the limited series “DTF St. Louis,” with David Harbour and Jason Bateman taking on key roles, according to our latest findings.

HBO has greenlit a seven-episode run for this upcoming series. It was initially revealed as being in production around 2022, with Tom Harbour and Pedro Pascal set to star and produce. The concept originated from the James Lasdun article “My Dentist’s Murder Trial: Adultery, False Identities, and a Lethal Sedation,” published in The New Yorker.

Initially, I was under the impression that the upcoming series would be a direct adaptation of the original article. However, as time went on, it turned out that the creative direction has taken a new, unique path with no resemblance to the source material whatsoever. I’m no longer involved in the project, but I continue my professional relationship with HBO, and they are moving forward with “The Last of Us” season 2, which is set to premiere in 2025.

The show “DTF St. Louis” is a humorous yet somber limited series centered around a love triangle among three individuals grappling with the ennui of middle age. This complex emotional dynamic culminates in one of the characters meeting an untimely demise.

Steven Conrad continues in multiple roles, such as the writer, head of production, executive producer, and director. Both Harbour and Bateman are set to serve as executive producers, with Bateman doing so under his Aggregate Films label. Other executive producers include Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch from Escape Artists; Molly Allen; Bruce Terris; Michael Costigan from Aggregate Films; Kristina Wenson for Bravo Axolotl; Lasdun; and MGM Television.

Francesca Orsi, HBO’s executive vice president of programming and head of drama series and films, expressed great enthusiasm about collaborating with the talented storyteller Steve Conrad. Conrad’s unique perspective is a key element in all his work. With David Harbour and Jason Bateman leading the series, two actors known for their exceptional talents, we are confident about the journey we embark on. We can’t wait to bring this emotionally stirring production to the world when the time comes.

As a dedicated movie enthusiast, I’ve had the pleasure of working with HBO before, gracing their screens not just as an actor but also as a director and executive producer on the limited series “The Outsider.” My performance in this series even earned me an Emmy nomination for Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series in 2020. Apart from that, I’ve also been recognized by the Emmys for my work on the popular Netflix series “Ozark,” where I’ve donned both acting and directing hats, taking home the award for Best Directing for a Drama Series in 2019. I’ve also received Emmy nods for shows like “Arrested Development” and more recently, as an executive producer on the Apple TV+ series “Lessons in Chemistry.” Currently, I’m gearing up for the Netflix series “Black Rabbit,” where I share the screen with Jude Law.

Currently, Harbour is a leading actor in the popular Netflix series “Stranger Things,” which is gearing up for its fifth and last season. So far, he has earned two Emmy nominations for his performances on this show. Additionally, he has been featured in television shows like “Q Force,” “Manhattan,” and “Rake” and films such as “Black Widow,” “Black Mass,” “The Equalizer,” and “Hellboy.

Conrad is recognized for developing series such as “Ultra City Smiths”, “Patriot”, and “Perpetual Grace, LTD.”, and he’s also a co-creator. His writing credits include movies like “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”, “Wonder”, and “The Pursuit of Happyness”.

Harbour is repped by WME and Sloane Offer. Conrad is repped by CAA and Weintraub Tobin. Bateman and Aggregate Films are repped by CAA and Lighthouse Management + Media, while Bateman is also repped by Hansen Jasobsen, and Shelter PR.
