As a proud alumnus of one of these Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), I couldn’t be more thrilled about Allen Media Group’s latest endeavor with HBCU Go! Growing up, watching my fellow HBCU athletes compete was always a source of immense pride. Now, knowing that their games will be broadcast on Fox-owned stations in Los Angeles and Chicago, reaching 95% of U.S. TV households, is truly heartwarming.
Allen Media Group has made arrangements with Fox-operated television stations in Los Angeles and Chicago for broadcasting the 2024 college football package available through their HBCU Go brand.
The agreement between Fox’s KCOP-TV Los Angeles and WPWR-TV Chicago finalizes the television broadcast lineup for the HBCU Go football games. This will feature a total of 26 matches, airing from August 31 to November 23. HBCU Go is the television partner for the sports programs at the United States’ 107 Historically Black Colleges and Universities. With this Fox deal, HBCU Go’s football schedule will be visible on TV stations reaching approximately 95% of American households.
HBCU Go’s list of broadcasting partners encompasses stations owned by Sinclair, Gray, Tegna, Hearst, Nexstar, two Gray entities, and Scripps. Additionally, the games are available on Armed Forces Network, Allen Media Group’s TheGrio.com, Local Now, and HBCU Go’s digital platforms.

As a longtime advocate for historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), I am thrilled to see Allen Media Group making strides towards broad national distribution of HBCU football. My own educational journey at an HBCU instilled in me a deep sense of pride, community, and a unique perspective that has shaped my life.
The opening of the season begins on August 24 with the HBCU Go Pre Show. A week later, play-by-play commentator Charlie Neal will team up with color commentator Jon Kelly and sideline reporter Lawrencia Moten for real-time game broadcasts. The inaugural match is between Clark Atlanta University and Fort Valley State University.
