Hawk Tuah girl appears to have sold her X account to a random meme page

It seems that Haliey Welch, who became well-known in 2024 under the moniker “Hawk Tuah Girl,” has apparently changed hands and sold her old X (previously known as Twitter) account. Now it goes by the name ‘Up Only Memes’.

The user’s username and profile picture have been updated, and this account has published two fresh tweets on July 9th. One tweet discusses memes, while the other reads “What the helly” with a screenshot attached offering to purchase an X account for $325,000.

It’s uncertain if this post originated from Welch prior to selling the account or the present owner. Currently, the account boasts nearly 400,000 followers.

As a devoted follower, I can see that just four tweets are left on the page now. Two of them were initially shared by Welch on July 27, 2024, and March 28, 2025, but it seems like the last two posts might have been made by the new account owner.

Who is Haliey Welch?

2024 saw a surge in recognition for Welch following a popular viral video of a street interview in Nashville in June. In the video, she employed an expression known as “hawk tuah,” leading to its rapid spread and popularity on various social media sites.

After her popular breakthrough, Welch began selling merchandise, started a podcast titled “Talk Tuah,” and participated in various functions such as tossing the opening pitch at a New York Mets match. Additionally, she became associated with Jake Paul’s media firm, Betr, and made appearances at multiple events.

In December 2024, Welch endorsed a meme cryptocurrency built on the Solana platform called $HAWK. Initially, the token’s market value soared past $500 million; however, it plummeted by over 90 percent subsequently. In subsequent interviews, Welch admitted her limited understanding of cryptocurrencies. She clarified that she did not make a profit from the coin and had not faced any charges by authorities, but the coin was involved in a lawsuit.

As of now, Welch has not publicly commented on the account rebrand or whether she sold it.
