Hatsune Miku, the popular virtual singer, has a new look to celebrate the release of her updated voice software.
A new illustration has been revealed as the official image for Hatsune Miku V6, set to launch on April 14, 2026.
As a huge Miku fan, I was so excited to see the new look! Crypton Future Media announced that it was illustrated by LAM, who’s done official Miku art before, so I knew it would be amazing. It’s great to see them working together again!
Hatsune Miku now has a new look
The company worked with illustrator and character designer LAM to develop the new look for ‘Hatsune Miku V6,’ planning for future updates to the software’s technology and making it available in multiple languages.
Crypton explained they aimed to blend a contemporary look with the character’s classic appeal.
I was really impressed with how LAM designed this – they managed to create a space that feels both fresh and modern, but still really captures the classic feel of Hatsune Miku. It’s a great mix of old and new!

She might initially seem simple, cute, or even cool and delicate, but a closer look reveals something more complex. We believe this design captures a uniquely recognizable ‘Hatsune Miku’ feel.
Along with showing off its new look, Crypton released a demo of Miku V6 singing in English. The song, ‘Like a Shooting Star,’ was created by US-based musician Crusher, and highlights the software’s improved ability to pronounce English words more naturally.
The new Hatsune Miku V6 is the latest version of the software that lets musicians and creators worldwide make songs using her voice.
