Hatsune Miku fans upset after itasha car gets impounded at MIKU EXPO 2026

A car decorated with Hatsune Miku designs recently caught attention when it was stopped by police near the MIKU EXPO 2026 in Vancouver. Some fans reported that the car was then towed close to where the concert was being held.

MIKU EXPO 2026 North America came to Vancouver on April 18th, stopping at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Center as part of a 15-city tour. This year’s event centers around a “Candy Shop” theme, featuring artwork by yon and the official song “CONNECT:COMMUNE” by FLAVOR FOLEY.

The story began circulating on X (formerly Twitter) when a fan account named Miku01 reported that a car decorated with Hatsune Miku imagery had been stopped by police in Vancouver. Soon after, reports said the car was impounded, and photos and videos from the scene quickly appeared online.

This caused a huge reaction from Hatsune Miku fans, and the car immediately became a popular topic of conversation at the Vancouver event.

Itasha cars โ€“ vehicles decorated with art from anime, manga, and video games โ€“ are commonly seen at fan gatherings, so a police stop involving one really caught people’s attention. Social media posts confirmed the stop and said the car was taken, but officials haven’t publicly explained what happened.
