A recent video from the set of HBO’s eagerly awaited Harry Potter series has appeared online, giving fans a glimpse of a recognizable place. Filming is presently happening at Leavesden Studios in the United Kingdom. The show’s first season is projected to debut in early 2027.
What does the new Harry Potter set video show?
A new behind-the-scenes video, posted on X, gives fans a first look at the famous Hogwarts Express train. The upcoming Harry Potter show is expected to feature the train often during its planned ten-season run. This offers a sneak peek at a key element of the series.
In the original books and movies, the Hogwarts Express is famous for taking students from London’s King’s Cross Station, Platform 9¾, to Hogsmeade Station. This news strongly suggests that the show’s main stars – Harry, Ron, and Hermione – are about to film their first scene together, which takes place on their initial train journey to Hogwarts.
The new Harry Potter TV series will star Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. The cast also includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, and Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley. Gracie Cochrane will play Ginny Weasley, with Tristan Harland and Gabriel Harland as Fred and George Weasley, respectively, and many other talented actors.
The upcoming HBO series is written and led by showrunner Francesca Gardiner (Killing Eve, Succession), with Mark Mylod directing. The show will closely follow the story of the popular Harry Potter book series and will star a new and promising cast to capture the hearts of a new generation of fans. Along with Mylod, J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and veteran Harry Potter producer David Heyman all serve as executive producers. The series is a production of HBO, in partnership with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television.
