The “Harry Potter” HBO TV series adaptation is rounding out its cast with seven new additions.
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve learned some exciting new additions to the cast of our show. Katherine Parkinson will bring Molly Weasley to life, Lox Pratt will step into the role of Draco Malfoy, and Johnny Flynn will portray Lucius Malfoy. Leo Earley has been chosen for Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni will play Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah will embody Lavender Brown, and Bertie Carvel will portray Cornelius Fudge. EbMaster has exclusively revealed that Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby will take on the roles of Petunia and Vernon Dursley respectively.
Previously mentioned, Dominic McLaughlin has been cast as Harry, Arabella Stanton will portray Hermione, while Alastair Stout takes on the role of Ron. The rest of the cast includes John Lithgow playing Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer in the role of Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse portraying Argus Filch.
The show is expected to begin production in the U.K. over the summer.
HBO is portraying the show as a loyal interpretation of J.K. Rowling’s globally acclaimed book series. The series promises to delve into every nook and cranny of the wizarding world, ensuring that both fresh and returning viewers can enjoy Harry Potter’s extraordinary journeys in each season.
The television show was developed, overseen, and orchestrated by Francesca Gardiner, who additionally takes on the role of showrunner. Mark Mylod will serve as executive producer and direct numerous episodes for HBO, in partnership with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts from Brontë Film and TV, along with David Heyman of Heyday Films, are also serving as executive producers.
