As a devoted fan of both theater and suspense films, hearing about James Howard’s new role in “Albert” has me absolutely thrilled! Having played Draco Malfoy in the West End production of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” I’ve always admired his ability to portray complex characters with such intensity.
Actors from “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” specifically James Howard, has landed a role in the forthcoming thriller movie titled “Albert.
In the upcoming movie, Howard, known for his portrayal of Draco Malfoy in the West End play, will take on the role of The Rector. Previously, he has acted in the Pierce Brosnan film titled “Survivor.
In the 17th century, the narrative “Albert” unfolds around a man named Sarre, who possesses a mysterious grimoire called “Le Petit Albert.” The town’s priest advises him against it and offers redemption, but to no avail. No matter how hard he tries, the book refuses to be destroyed and continues to haunt Sarre with ominous repercussions.
In the movie, Cameron Ashplant from “Marooned Awakening” is featured. The film was crafted by Joshua Fletcher, who served as its writer, director, and producer.
The movie recently commenced filming on the British island of Guernsey, with plans to hit theaters by late summer 2025.
Fletcher mentioned that locating an actor capable of portraying The Rector’s complex role – dark, ambiguous, but with a touch of paternal warmth – was no easy task. However, it seemed as though fate had stepped in when James Howard appeared on stage left. Known for playing Draco Malfoy in the London production of ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,’ James brought exactly the intensity and elegance Fletcher had envisioned. And to top it off, discovering that he hailed from the Channel Islands made everything fall into place – it was clear this casting choice was a perfect fit, one destined for success, and Fletcher couldn’t wait to showcase his talent in the movie.
In the movie, Andrew Butler (“In Another Life”) serves as the director of photography, and Elizabeth Butterick (“Trying”), takes up the role as costume designer.
Roger and Frances Le Tissier serve as executive producers for Ivy Gate Films in the production of “Say Your Prayers”. The film “Albert” is backed and funded by Guernsey Arts, Visit Guernsey, and Ivy Gate Films.
