‘Handmaid’s Tale’ Sequel ‘The Testaments’ Casts Lucy Halliday as Daisy

The forthcoming Hulu show titled “The Testaments,” which serves as a continuation of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” has chosen Lucy Halliday for the part of character Daisy.

The film ‘The Testaments’ is adapted from Margaret Atwood’s book with the same title. It focuses on three main characters: Aunt Lydia, portrayed by Ann Dowd who is known for her role in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’, Agnes (played by Chase Infiniti), and a young Canadian teen named Daisy. Daisy’s life takes an unexpected turn when she uncovers her link to the nation of Gilead.

Set 15 years following the events depicted in “The Handmaid’s Tale”, which recently concluded its sixth and final season on Hulu, “The Testaments” is a novel that shifts among the viewpoints of three different women. Margaret Atwood published this book in 2019, marking 34 years since the original release of “The Handmaid’s Tale.

Similar to “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “The Testaments” was written by Bruce Miller, who also acts as the series’ showrunner. Alongside him, Warren Littlefiend from The Littlefield Company takes on the role of executive producer. MGM Television is responsible for production.

In the last season of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” June is once again drawn into the struggle to overthrow Gilead. Meanwhile, Luke and Moira become part of the resistance movement. According to the synopsis, Serena will attempt to reform Gilead, while Commander Lawrence and Aunt Lydia grapple with the consequences of their actions. Nick, in turn, encounters significant trials of his moral fiber.

I’ve just wrapped up my part in James McAvoy’s “California Schemin’.” Notably, I was honored with a Scottish BAFTA Award for Best Actress for my portrayal of Lois in the indie film “Blue Jean,” and I was also nominated for that role at the British Independent Film Awards in 2022.

Halliday is handled by the Curtis Brown Group and the law firm, Myman Greenspan Fox Rosenberg Mobasser Younger & Light LLP.
