Handmaid’s Tale Sequel Gets Major Update Before Season 6 Premiere!

Exciting news for fans of “The Handmaid’s Tale”! As we eagerly await Season 6 (the final installment), there’s more to look forward to: a spin-off series is in development, and Hulu recently shared some intriguing updates about it.

In the closing chapter of the sixth and last season of the MGM and Hulu series, we’re left pondering several key questions. Will Nick’s fate take a turn for the better? Will The Wheelers manage to locate Serena? And, most importantly, how will the uprising among the Handmaids unfold?

Luckily, we don’t have much longer to hold our breath in anticipation, as the initial three episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 will premiere on Hulu on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

After spending eight long years gracing our screens with its presence, it might seem challenging to bid farewell to the popular TV series. However, there’s no need to do so anymore.

Similar to its main series counterpart, “The Testaments” is also derived from Margaret Atwood’s book titled the same way, serving as a continuation of the narrative presented in “The Handmaid’s Tale.

15 years subsequent to the initial narrative, The Testaments delves into the lives of three females: Aunt Lydia, a mature individual from Gilead; Agnes, a grown-up brought up within Gilead; and Daisy, a Canadian adolescent who uncovers startling truths about her past.

In addition to Dowd, Chase Infiniti will portray Agnes, which is actually the name of June’s daughter Hannah in The Handmaid’s Tale. At the same time, Lucy Halliday assumes the role of Daisy, a character who shares a connection with June (no spoilers about their relationship).

Besides Dowd’s comeback, Elisabeth Moss will also take on the role of executive producer for the upcoming TV series. Meanwhile, Bruce Miller has been assigned to oversee the show’s production.

On social media, the streaming platform posted a picture from their table reading for “The Testaments,” which is Margaret Atwood’s sequel to “The Handmaid’s Tale. They announced that filming will commence on April 7th.
