Good news for fans of *Hocus Pocus*! Disney has just announced exciting developments for a third movie in the series. Ever since *Hocus Pocus 2* became a huge hit on Disney+, people have been eager to find out if another film would be made. Now, it seems a third movie is officially in the works!

Bette Midler recently shared on Watch What Happens Live that she’s read a fantastic script for a potential movie and that plans are currently being finalized to bring it to life.

I received a script that had some really strong moments, which I was very enthusiastic about. Now, we’re working through the practical details – figuring out the overall vision for the project, where it will be filmed, and the budget.

After the popular 2022 sequel became Disney+’s most-watched movie debut – racking up 2.7 billion minutes of watch time – Bette Midler mentioned she’d be open to one more film in the series. However, over the summer, a script hadn’t been written and she was waiting for something to develop, even playfully pushing Disney to move quickly while everyone was still able to participate. It seems her request was heard, and the project is now being fast-tracked, likely because of her enthusiasm.

‘Hocus Pocus 3’ Could Be a Great End to the Franchise

Released in 1993, *Hocus Pocus* quickly became a beloved Halloween tradition and a cult classic thanks to the memorable Sanderson Sisters. While a sequel wasn’t originally planned, Disney+ provided the opportunity to bring *Hocus Pocus 2* to life as the streaming service looked for popular content.

Fans were disappointed the sequel wasn’t released in theaters, as it went straight to Disney+. However, that decision proved very successful. Even though reviews were mixed for the return of Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, the movie’s nostalgia factor was strong enough to make it a Halloween favorite for many, just like the original. This year, both films have recently reached the top of Disney+’s movie charts as Halloween approaches, proving their continued popularity.

Okay, as a huge fan, I’m SO excited to hear Bette Midler say that *Hocus Pocus 3* is actually happening and they even have a script! It’s got me already wanting to watch it! We don’t know for sure who will be back yet, but Sarah Parker has said she’d love to return as Sarah, and I’m pretty sure Kathy Najimy will be back as Mary too. It would be amazing if some of the original cast from the first movie, who weren’t in *Hocus Pocus 2*, could make an appearance this time around!
