Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page to Star in ‘Italianna’ for Universal

Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page are set to star in “Italianna” for Universal Pictures.

The movie will be helmed by Kat Coiro, who’s known for “Marry Me” and “Matlock”, with a script penned by Ryan Engle (“Rampage”, “Beast”). The storyline originates from an original concept developed jointly by Ryan Engle and Kristin Engle.

Through a first-look deal with Universal Pictures, Will Packer Productions will create the movie, with Will Packer and Johanna Byer serving as producers. Erik Baiers, senior executive vice president, and Jacqueline Garell, director of development, will supervise the project for the studio. Meanwhile, Alvie Hurtado will oversee the project on behalf of Will Packer Productions.

Bailey, Coiro, Engle, and Packer are under the management of CAA. Page is associated with UTA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, Shelter PR, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
