‘Hacks’ Renewed for Season 5 at Max

“Hacks” has been renewed for a fifth season at Max.

The announcement about the show’s Season 4 finale, happening this Thursday, was made by creators Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky at a screening in Los Angeles on Tuesday. As per Warner Bros. Discovery, Season 4 has been the series’ most-viewed season yet, with each episode attracting more viewers than the last.

The series ‘Hacks’ explores the highs and lows in the dynamic between Deborah Vance, an iconic comedian approaching 80, and Ava Daniels, a budding comedy writer on her team. The fourth season, released on April 10, finds them at odds when Deborah lands a prestigious late-night talk show hosting gig, and Ava leverages this situation to secure the head writing position she had initially pledged to her but later rescinded.

In addition to Smart, Einbinder, and others, the cast also features Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, and Rose Abdoo.

As a movie reviewer, I’d rephrase it like this: “The executive production of ‘Hacks’ is handled by Downs, Aniello, and their Paulilu banner, Statsky through First Thought Productions, Michael Schur via Fremulon, David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment, and Morgan Sackett. Universal Television serves as the studio behind this remarkable production.

Absolutely! I can’t get enough of the exceptional talent displayed by ‘Hacks’ cast and crew! A big round of applause for our wonderful collaborators at Universal Television, too. Here’s to more amazing work together, as stated by Max Original’s programming head Sarah Aubrey.

Just like Deborah Vance, the show ‘Hacks’ is becoming increasingly bold, sharp, and iconic as it progresses. Erin Underhill, president of Universal Television, is delighted that we can continue to make audiences laugh with Jennifer, Paul, Lucia, our exceptional cast and crew, and our collaborators at Max.
