‘Gyeongseong Creature,’ Hit Korean Mystery Series, Sets Trailer Ahead of Season 2

As a dedicated fan of Korean mystery series, I am beyond excited for the return of “Gyeongseong Creature”! The first season was a captivating blend of history, suspense, and supernatural elements that left me on the edge of my seat. The second season promises to continue this thrilling journey, with a jump to present-day Seoul and intriguing new characters like Seung-jo and the mysterious figure crafting sinister plans at Jeonseung Biotech.

Netflix has unveiled a teaser for the highly popular Korean mystery series, “Gyeongseong Creature,” in anticipation of the release of its second season on September 27th.

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share my thoughts about the gripping narrative that unfolds in the first season. It’s set against the backdrop of 1945 Seoul, then known as Gyeongseong, during the Japanese occupation. The chilling experiments conducted by the Imperial Army on humans were not only heartless, but they also unleashed a terrifying monster creature.

The second season leaps into modern-day Seoul and focuses on Chae-ok, played by Han So-hee, as she meets Ho-jae, who shares a striking resemblance with a person from her past in 1945.

Additionally, it introduces two major new characters. One of them is Seung-jo, a mysterious figure working for Jeonseung Biotech, which was previously known as Ongseong Hospital in Season 1. This character is played by Bae Hyeon-seong, who has been seen in “Our Blues” and “Hospital Playlist”.

Another character, played by Lee Mu-saeng (known for “The Glory” and “The Silent Sea”), devises a wicked scheme in the labs of Jeonseung Biotech to replicate the experiments conducted back in 1945.

The show is helmed by Chung Dong-yoon, who wrote the screenplay along with Kang Eun-kyung. It’s being produced by Story&Pictures Media, a subsidiary of Kakao Entertainment, in collaboration with CJ ENM’s Studio Dragon.

The debut season, launched towards the close of 2023, managed to secure a spot on the global top ten TV shows not in English for four consecutive weeks and even made it into the top ten national rankings of 69 different countries.

This year, the streamer is set to bring back more Korean scripted content: Season 3 of “Sweet Home,” which premiered in July, “Hellbound S2,” “Zombieverse S2,” and an upcoming season of the highly anticipated “Squid Game.” In the unscripted category, they’re also launching a new season of “Physical 100.”
