While the dust is still settling on ESL Pro League Season 21, it’s time for the BLAST Open 2025 Season 1 event to begin, where the best Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports teams in the world will compete for their share of a huge prize pool.

BLAST Open 2025 Season 1 Schedule & Format

The BLAST Open 2025 Season 1 event will begin with a Group Stage, running from 19 to 24 March 2025. In the Group Stage, 16 teams will compete in two groups of eight. The format is double-elimination GSL style, where all matches are BO3. 

1. The top three teams in each group move on to the Playoffs.

2. The winners of each group will advance directly to the Semifinals.
3. The second-place finishers from each group will move on to the Quarterfinals as High Seeds.
4. Third place finishers from each group will also progress to the Quarterfinals, but they will be considered Low Seeds in this round.
5. The remaining teams are knocked out of the competition.

While the Group Stage is held at the BLAST Studios venue in Copenhagen, the Playoffs will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, at the MEO Arena. The Playoffs run from 28 to 30 March 2025, featuring a single-elimination bracket format. The Grand Final is BO5, and the rest of the matches are BO3.

There are 16 teams competing at the BLAST Open 2025 Season 1 event. These 16 teams have already been divided into two groups, and the first round of matchups has been revealed.

  • Team Spirit vs. Huns
  • MOUZ vs. Team Falcons
  • FaZe Clan vs. Virtus.pro

Group B teams & matchups:

  • G2 Esports vs. Imperial Esports
  • Team Liquid vs. Eternal Fire
  • NAVI vs. FURIA
  • M80 vs. The Mongolz

While Team Spirit won the last big BLAST event, picking up the BLAST Bounty Season 1 crown, it is Team Vitality who is the frontrunner, having won both IEM Katowice 2025 and, most recently, ESL Pro League Season 21.
