Greenwich Entertainment Bags ‘Marcella’: Marcella Hazan’s Story to Hit Theaters May 9

Greenwich Entertainment has secured the rights to distribute “Marcella” in North America, a documentary about renowned Italian chef and cookbook author Marcella Hazan. Directed by Emmy and Peabody Award winner Peter Miller, known as Doc Pomus, this production from Oak Street Pictures and Willow Pond Films premiered first at the Coronado Island Film Festival, where it bagged the Audience Award. Subsequently, it was honored with the Best Film award at the 2025 Taste Awards.

The film “Marcella” by Greenwich is set to hit cinemas on May 9. Its television and streaming debut on “American Masters” via PBS has yet to be confirmed, but will be revealed at a future time.

Acclaimed by Julia Child as her guide to Italian cuisine, Marcella Hazan significantly transformed how Americans prepare and appreciate authentic Italian dishes. Her renowned cookbooks have introduced numerous generations to the charm of genuine Italian food. This series is overseen by Margie Geddes and Michael Kantor from ‘American Masters’, as well as renowned chef Art Smith in an executive producer role.
