The box-office success of the Minecraft film continues, and here’s an interesting tidbit: There’s now Minecraft-themed milk on sale! If it tickles your fancy, give it a try. However, take note that this new product contains a food dye which the US government intends to discontinue in the near future.
TruMoo has introduced special edition Minecraft-themed milk varieties – Vanilla Green “Creeper Milk” and Chocolate milk, available at US retailers until the end of June.
In simpler terms, the natural color of milk in Minecraft is supposed to resemble green, achieved using Blue 1 food coloring, which the U.S. government intends to discontinue by the end of 2026. This could potentially make the green Minecraft milk a rare find or collector’s item. However, it’s important to note that milk does not last long and is not suitable for collecting. Not everyone shares the same views on food dyes and their potential health effects.
According to an internal email obtained by Reuters, the FDA has temporarily halted its “milk and dairy proficiency testing program” at the federal level. In the meantime, milk manufacturers are expected to collaborate with state agencies to maintain their certification.
Matt Herrick, head of International Dairy Foods Association, clarified to The Washington Post that this week’s FDA announcement is not about halting milk testing. Instead, it emphasizes that dairy facilities and milk continue to undergo routine testing by regulatory bodies, a practice that has been ongoing for over a century. Expert opinions suggest there’s no need for consumers to worry or be alarmed about the FDA’s recent updates on this matter.
Speaking about Minecraft updates, a Minecraft film has hit the cinemas and is raking in substantial profits. To date, it has earned an impressive $727 million globally, placing it as the second highest-grossing video game film ever made.
