Update (September 19)
As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the upcoming release of GreedFall 2: The Dying World has me absolutely thrilled! After having sailed through countless islands and battled hordes of enemies in the original game, I can’t wait to return to the world of Teer Fradee.
Today, Spiders studio presented the roadmap for GreedFall 2 in the first months of Early Access.
- At launch, the game will offer 3 regions (Teer Fradee, Thynia, and Uxantis), 6 companions, 6 skill trees, and the beginning of the main storyline.
- In the autumn of 2024, we will receive a new companion and quests related to them, as well as more of the main story, hub, an additional region, and 2 skill trees.
- The same thing will happen in Winter – we can expect new abilities, another companion, quests, and a crafting system.
- Next, the “Spiders” plan to add new story missions, a region, faction quests, skills, a photo mode, and a higher maximum character level to the game.

Luckily, the early access launch of GreedFall II: The Dying World hasn’t been delayed due to the major challenges Spiders studio has encountered lately. We can look forward to playing it next week, and to generate excitement, the developers have shared fresh content showcasing our travel companions.
Five companions
According to the Steam post, companions play a crucial role in “GreedFall 2“, and our choices will shape their stories and personal interactions. Here’s a brief overview of five such characters.
- Nilan – a childhood friend of Vriden Gerr and a native with a deep connection to nature and the earth. He wants to protect his people, but he is also stubborn and helpless.
- Fausta is a girl from a noble family who can portray various personalities depending on the audience. Oriented in diplomacy, discreet, and reserved.
- Sybille – from a young age, she was involved in politics and family conspiracies. Although distrustful, she is also ready to make any sacrifice to protect her loved ones.
- Alvida – rebellious, strong and determined, constantly adhering to her ideals and iron will.
- Ludwig – a former soldier who doesn’t believe in heroes. He is sarcastic, hates fake politeness, and doesn’t shy away from aggression.
Additionally, the game boasts the presence of actor Neil Newbon, renowned for his role as Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3. This development has sparked excitement among fans, as Astarion, the charismatic vampire, is a beloved figure among players who frequently opted for him from the pool of predefined characters. The specific character Neil Newbon will portray remains unclear, but some speculate it could be Ingo, a voice we recognized in June’s gameplay.

In a little over two months, on September 24, the Early Access version of “GreedFall II: The Dying World” will be available on PC. Additionally, versions for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 are scheduled to launch next year.
