On July 9th, Roth spoke about the situation in a TikTok post, revealing that his grandmother had become a meme and confessing his confusion over explaining this online trend to her. He also mentioned his own lack of understanding regarding Twitter, expressing his bewilderment at how swiftly a heartwarming moment was transformed into internet turmoil.

“I’m really confused about what to do about my viral meme’d Grandma,” he said.
