Google Has Some Fun When You Search For The Live-Action Legend Of Zelda Actors

In light of the recent announcements about the actors in Nintendo’s upcoming Legend of Zelda movie, Google has incorporated a fun surprise into its search engine. If you look up Benjamin Evan Ainsworth and Bo Bragason, who are set to portray Link, the adventurer, and Princess Zelda respectively, you’ll find something extra alongside the regular information.

Searching for those actors’ names in your browser, whether on mobile or desktop, will display various results such as images, their Wikipedia pages, social media profiles, and recent news about their castings. Additionally, you might find a hint about their future roles.

As a passionate fan, when I search for the actor who portrays my beloved character Link, I come across an exhilarating message that echoes his battle cries: “KYAAAA! HYAAAAA!” It’s as if I can hear him slicing through Hyrule and traversing the globe. To make it even more endearing, there’s a delightful small male elf emoji accompanying the message.

Currently, I’m trying to locate the actress who played Zelda. As I search, a message pops up at the top that says: “Oh, pardon me, Princess,” accompanied by an emoji of a female elf. This is a playful nod to Link’s famous phrase from the brief run of the Legend of Zelda animated series. For those who remember, episodes used to air on Fridays in tandem with The Super Mario Bros. Super Show.

Bragason, a renowned British actress, achieved fame with her part in the 2017 series Three Girls and subsequently featured in the 2021 horror movie Censor. Additionally, she lent her voice to young Luna in Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy (2021), a computer-generated film connected to Final Fantasy XV. Since then, she has accepted multiple roles on both TV and the big screen. Ainsworth, another talented English actor, is recognized for his contributions to The Haunting of Bly Manor, Flora & Ulysses, and Disney’s live-action adaptation of Pinocchio.

Under development is an actual-life Legend of Zelda movie, jointly produced by Nintendo and Sony Pictures. The project is helmed by director Wes Ball, known for Maze Runner and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, and will be co-produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and Marvel producer Avi Arad. According to Ball’s own words, he aspires to create a visual aesthetic reminiscent of Studio Ghibli’s work while maintaining a narrative that stays true to reality.

The Legend of Zelda movie is currently scheduled to be released on May 7, 2027.
