GOG’s New “One-Click Mods” Feature Lets You Instantly Install Some Incredibly Popular Add-Ons

GOG (Good Old Games) has recently introduced a new convenience to its platform, allowing users to quickly install popular mods on selected classic games with just one click. This new feature, called “One-click Mods“, provides access to well-regarded community-created enhancements for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, Doom 3, and Fallout 4, among others. In the near future, this collection will expand to include the highly anticipated Skyblivion mod for Skyrim.

At the PC Gaming Show, GOG introduced a new feature called One-click Mods, providing a streamlined way to access popular game modifications. Unlike comprehensive platforms like Nexus Mods, One-click Mods offers a curated selection of well-liked mods for specific games. Essentially, when you purchase and download games via GOG’s online store or the GOG Galaxy launcher, installing compatible mods becomes an easy, automatic process.

Currently, the selection of One-click Mods is rather limited, yet it appears that GOG intends to incorporate large, well-regarded mods that are favored by their communities. For instance, Skyblivion – a fan-created remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion within Skyrim – has already gained significant attention. Additionally, the list includes Phobos for Doom 3, an add-on offering a prequel campaign to id Software’s game; Fallout: London, a standalone narrative extension for Fallout 4 set in the United Kingdom; Horn of the Abyss, a massive expansion for Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete that introduces new factions, campaigns, creatures, and more; and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines Unofficial Patch, a collection of fan-made enhancements that rectifies bugs and reintroduces previously cut content.

In addition, t Gold Edition.

Significantly, all modifications available via GOG’s One-click Mod service are free of charge. To use these mods, you must already possess the base games, but as with downloading mods from other sites, adding them through GOG’s platform doesn’t increase the overall cost.

Besides Skyblivion, all the mods that GOG unveiled using their One-click Mod feature are accessible on GOG.com and within GOG Galaxy at this very moment. However, it’s been announced that Skyblivion will eventually be added to the list, which is expected to happen sometime in 2025.
