GOG Might Re-Release More Capcom Titles After Resident Evil

As a long-time fan of classic video games, I can’t contain my excitement about GOG’s recent success with re-releasing the original Resident Evil game and the upcoming releases of RE2 and RE3. The news that GOG is interested in bringing more Capcom classics to their platform has me jumping for joy!

Following the achievement of Resident Evil’s re-launch and the upcoming releases of RE2 and RE3, GOG expresses eagerness to collaborate with Capcom once more. According to an interview with Time Extension, GOG’s senior business development manager, Marcin Paczyński, mentioned that “the launching of Resident Evil led us to work closely with Capcom; our partnership significantly strengthened as a result.”

Paczyński mentioned that the team is committed to making an effort to introduce additional Capcom classics.

GOG’s revamped edition of the first Resident Evil game retains the authentic experience, while enhancing it with enhanced compatibility and user-friendly upgrades. According to GOG’s declaration on the game’s webpage, “The core content remains unaltered – the 1996 version stays true to its roots.” Numerous enthusiasts have given this faithful rendition a high rating of 4.5/5 stars on GOG.

Several potential games, including the Street Fighter series, could possibly join GOG. Bringing these classics to GOG would allow players to experience the originals instead of modernized versions. It’d be a treat to have titles similar to Marvel vs. Capcom as well.

As an avid fan, I’m thrilled to see Capcom and GOG strengthening their bond. With GOG expressing a clear interest in re-releasing more of Capcom’s games, it’s only natural for me to hold on to hope that even more classic Capcom titles are on the horizon. Furthermore, given the recent buzz around potential RE0 and Code Veronica remakes, I can hardly contain my excitement!
