In a fun twist of events, the free-to-play shooter role-playing game, “Goddess of Victory: NIKKE,” is gearing up for another collaboration with the timeless anime series, “Neon Genesis Evangelion.” This exciting crossover event starts on February 20, 2025. The previous crossover happened in August 2024 and introduced characters like Rei, Asuka, Mari, and Misato into the game’s playable roster.
Developer Shift Up shared a teaser trailer unveiling the event, as well:
In the latest Evangelion x NIKKE crossover event, it feels like I’ve stepped into the world of the Rebuild of Evangelion movies, particularly Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo and Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. Rei is rocking her iconic black plugsuit, while Asuka’s sporting that distinctive eye patch and hat we saw in those films. The trailer even hints at Sakura Suzuhara being present, much like she was during the Evangelion 3.0 and 3.0+1.0 film timeline. It’s almost as if I’ve been transported right into the heart of the movies!
In this scenario, the characters from the anime ‘Evangelion’ encounter the main characters of NIKKE, specifically Rapi, Anis, Neon, Mast, Anchor, and Helm, who are part of the crew aboard the NIKKE battleship Admire. The Admire is engaged in combat with both the Evangelion units and the flying battleship AAA Wunder.
The upcoming event introduces three fresh characters to play: Asuka from WILLE, tentatively named Rei Ayanami, and Sakura. Unlike their current versions in NIKKE, Asuka and Rei will be unique variants, while Sakura will be a complimentary character given free of charge during the event. Additionally, this event brings back gacha banner reruns from past collaborations, providing another chance for players who didn’t acquire Asuka, Rei, and Mari in their initial release to try again.
The game titled “Nikke: Goddess of Victory” can be played on both computers and mobile devices. Starting from February 20, 2025, a collaboration with “Evangelion” will commence.
