God Of War’s 20th Anniversary Event Will Have Donuts And Beach Towels, But No New Announcements

Sony Santa Monica and Gallery Nucleus are teaming up for an exhibit commemorating the 20th anniversary of God of War, happening later this month. However, there won’t be any fresh announcements made during the event.

On Twitter, Sony Santa Monica made it clear they have no scheduled announcements in store for this special event, despite the excitement surrounding its anniversary and impressive lineup.

The event, taking place from March 15th to the 23rd, features a panel discussion and game development sessions scheduled for March 15th and 22nd. Although no fresh announcements are planned, participants will have an opportunity to explore exclusive prints, Phantasy Arcade Cabinets, God of War-themed donuts from Moonbridge, and a Kratos beach towel.

Ever since wrapping up God of War Ragnarok in 2022, I’ve found myself keeping quiet about my next move over at Sony Santa Monica. But word on the street is that we’re cooking up something fresh and exciting – our very first new intellectual property (IP) since God of War graced our screens back in 2005!

There’s been talk about remastering the original God of War trilogy and potentially announcing it around the franchise’s anniversary, but Sony has clarified that they won’t make any official announcements during the exhibition. Yet, there might still be announcements related to the series that are not tied to the event itself.

It has been reported that Bluepoint Games, who are known for the Demon’s Souls remake, were apparently developing a God of War game with a live service element, but this project was unfortunately scrapped.
