
Now that Ryan Hurst has been confirmed to star as Kratos in the new God of War series on Prime Video, more information about the cast is being revealed.
Teresa Palmer will play the character of Phoebe/Sif – Thor’s wife – in the upcoming show. The Australian actress and model is known for her previous work in TV series like ‘The Family Next Door’ and ‘The Last Anniversary,’ as well as films such as ‘Warm Bodies’ and ‘The Fall Guy’.
The upcoming God of War TV series, created by Ronald D. Moore (known for Battlestar Galactica), has been greenlit for two seasons. Frederick E.O. Toye, who has worked on shows like The Boys and Fallout, will direct the first two episodes. A release date hasn’t been announced yet.
Prime Video is also behind the upcoming Tomb Raider live-action TV show starring Sophie Turner.
The upcoming God of War TV series will adapt storylines from both the 2018 God of War and 2022’s God of War Ragnarok, focusing on the relationship between Kratos and his son, Atreus. Casting announcements, including who will play Atreus, haven’t been made yet.
God of War is a hugely popular series for Sony, and although there haven’t been any official announcements, most people anticipate more games in the future. However, plans for a live-service style God of War game were apparently scrapped last year.
