Glen Powell Transforms Into College Football Player in ‘Chad Powers’ First Look

As a film enthusiast with a penchant for spotting rising stars, I must admit that Glen Powell has been consistently impressing me with his versatile acting skills and ambitious endeavors. His latest project, “Chad Powers,” on Hulu, seems to be yet another testament to his talent and ambition.

Glen Powell is nearly unrecognizable in the first look at his upcoming Hulu series “Chad Powers.”

The series was greenlit by the streaming platform way back in February. Notably, Powell will not only be a part of the cast but also collaborate on scriptwriting for the pilot episode alongside Michael Waldron. Both Powell and Waldron will assume the roles of executive producers as well.

The series is centered around a character named Chad Powers, which Eli Manning developed specifically for his ESPN+ documentary series titled “Eli’s World.”

According to the official summary, “After his college football career is ruined by misconduct, the character Russ Holliday assumes a new identity and joins a struggling Southern football team under the guise of being the skilled and friendly Chad Powers.”

Additionally, Powell will be joined by Steve Zahn, Toby Huss, Perry Mattfeld, Wynn Everett, Frankie A. Rodriguez, and Quentin Plair in the series.

Apart from Powell and Waldron, Manning and his brother Peyton Manning through Omaha Productions, along with Jamie Horowitz and Ben Brown, will also serve as executive producers. Adam Fasullo of Anomaly Pictures, where Waldron is based, and ESPN are also set to executive produce. Powell will executive produce under the Barnstorm Productions banner. The studio behind this project is 20th Television.

Previously, Powell has dabbled in writing, most notably co-writing the action-comedy “Hit Man” with Richard Linklater. He also appeared in this movie. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival and hit theaters on May 24 before becoming available on Netflix on June 7. Lately, Powell has been seen in the romantic comedy “Anyone But You,” starring alongside Sydney Sweeney, which has earned close to $200 million globally, and “Twisters,” which has garnered over $335 million worldwide. His other notable roles include those in “Top Gun: Maverick” and films such as “Hidden Figures” and “Everybody Wants Some.”
