Gigguk making his own anime with Solo Leveling VA and Made in Abyss composer

Known for his popular YouTube channel focused on anime and hosting Trash Taste, content creator Gigguk is making a splash by creating his first original anime short, titled “Bâan – Exploring the Limits of Maturity.

At Anime Expo 2025, it was revealed that Bâan is being developed under GeeXProductions, a fresh animation label spearheaded by GeeXPlus, the same agency responsible for Trash Taste. This upcoming anime delves into an isekai (other world) scenario, drawing from Southeast Asian mythology, cultural identity, and themes of maturity.

Giguk (also known as Garnt Maneetapho) is the original mind behind this project and plays a significant role in its artistic vision. The narrative centers around two Japanese characters named Rin and Daichi, who journey through a portal into Euthania, a world teeming with natural beauty and diverse magical species inspired by Southeast Asian mythology.

Studio Daisy is overseeing the animation process, with Yoshimitsu Ohashi (known for directing Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) at the helm and Kevin Penkin, composer of Made in Abyss, providing the music. The Japanese voice cast includes Haruna Mikawa, recognized for portraying Sung Jin-Ah, also known as Aoi Mizushino, in the anime series Solo Leveling.

Shoya Ishige is another addition to the VA team, famously known for voicing Wakana Gojo in My Dress-Up Darling. Meanwhile, the English dub cast includes Sydney Poniewaz (Sydsnap), who’s married to Gigguk and a fellow YouTuber, as Rin’s voice actress.

As a diehard fan, I can’t contain my excitement as Bâan is set to make its grand debut in Japan on August 24, 2025! Later this year, the global community will have a chance to enjoy it for free on Gigguk’s YouTube channel. On top of that, GeeXProductions has unveiled two more creator-driven projects: Soul Mart, an anime adaptation from DillonGoo based on his webcomic, and Otachan! Rabbit Season by OtakuVS. The anticipation is building!
