As a devoted moviegoer and fan of television shows, I can only imagine the exhilarating experience Utkarsh Ambudkar went through at San Diego Comic-Con. Shooting for “Ghosts” in Montreal for most of the year must have been an incredible journey, filled with challenges and camaraderie amongst the cast and crew.
At Comic-Con in San Diego, Utkarsh Ambudkar, the lead actor in Paramount+ comedy “Ghosts,” was taken aback by the large crowd of fans. He had spent nearly half the year filming Season 3 in Montreal and found this encounter to be remarkably strange or dreamlike.
“For nearly half the year, we produce 22 episodes in another country. Coming back to the US and encountering thousands of people seemingly eager to meet us is an incredible, almost unreal experience. This demonstrates how much ‘Ghosts’ resonates with audiences.”
At the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con, Ambudkar joined Román Zaragoza, Rebecca Wisocky, and Richie Moriarty for a chat in the Google TV-presented EbMaster Studio. They talked about the achievements of “Ghosts” and shared insights on the upcoming fourth season.
A young couple, Sam (played by Rose Mclver) and Jay (Ambudkar), discover a mansion they’ve inherited, intending to transform it into a bed-and-breakfast business. Unaware of its haunted past, they start the renovations. However, an unexpected accident grants Sam the ability to see all the ghostly residents, jeopardizing their B&B plans.
In the upcoming fourth season of “Ghosts,” Ambudkar’s character Jay will gain the ability to perceive ghosts personally. The specifics of the new storyline are not yet clear, but Ambudkar is thrilled about the prospect of acting alongside his castmates in the flesh for the first time.
As an actor myself, I can’t wait to finally look my colleagues in the eyes on set for the very first time. It’s going to feel pretty amazing, you know?
“Wisocky playfully added, ‘We’re unsure of its duration.’ This situation might not be perpetual.”
In Season 4, some new actors will be introduced, among them is Mary Holland who will portray Patience, a ghost from the 1600s with a strong comedic background. Moriarty spoke on behalf of the entire cast expressing their excitement about Holland becoming part of the “Ghosts” family.
Many of us on the production team are familiar with her from the UCB community and the improvisation scene. Our enthusiasm knew no bounds when we learned she had joined the cast. She’s an excellent fit for our team.
