Since then, there have been concerns that Sony and Microsoft might increase their prices in a similar fashion – an opinion shared by Former PlayStation Boss Shuhei Yoshida, who believes such price hikes are unavoidable.
In a chat with PlayStation Inside, Yoshida was questioned concerning Nintendo’s latest move to increase game prices, specifically for titles such as Mario Kart World.
He expressed his belief that the eventual occurrence of something was inevitable, though it might not have originated from Nintendo. Regardless, it was just a matter of time before it happened. In our contemporary era, we grapple with genuine and substantial inflation, yet there’s an expectation for games to be increasingly grandiose and expensive to produce, which should logically cost more. Yet, paradoxically, the price remains unchanged. This creates an equation that is fundamentally unsolvable.
It appears that the standard version of Ghost of Yotei priced at $69.99 is not as preferred compared to its digital deluxe edition, which costs $80. This suggests that gamers are ready to spend a bit more for the titles they truly cherish.
