Ghost in the Shell life-size figure revealed and it costs over $7,000

Fans of Ghost in the Shell can now purchase a life-size statue of Motoko Kusanagi, though it’s quite expensive.

The well-known anime series Ghost in the Shell often partners with brands for unique projects. Earlier this year, in February, a historic Japanese pottery company – one that used to create gifts for Japan’s former military rulers – made a limited run of 50 handmade porcelain figures.

This special collaboration is neat, but a life-sized statue of your favorite anime character is the ultimate way to show your fandom.

Considering fans are collecting large plushies of Umamusume characters and James Sunderland from Silent Hill 2 has a body pillow, it’s time for a life-size figure of Major Motoko Kusanagi from Mamoru Oshii’s iconic sci-fi film, Ghost in the Shell.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Prime 1 Studio created a life-sized figure. It’s about 174cm (5’8”) tall and weighs 36kg (around 79 pounds) – about the same as a large dog!

If you’re not home when it’s delivered, getting this package might lead to a pretty funny conversation with your mail carrier or a neighbor. You might want to make sure someone’s available to receive it!

This figure of Kusanagi is designed with her iconic outfit from the anime, including her high-cut bodysuit. It also comes with her Seburo C-26A handgun and a removable black jacket. Honestly, it might be easiest to keep the jacket on or just store the figure away if you don’t want to explain it to people!

This collectible figure is quite an investment, costing $7,999. It would take significant savings – perhaps skipping vacations, cutting back on expenses, getting a raise, or even winning the lottery – to make it happen, but it’s not entirely out of reach.
