In April 2025, just before the second-to-last weekly update for Destiny 2, Bungie has added an exciting opportunity for gamers: the possibility of obtaining a unique Emblem as a reward. However, don’t delay – seize this chance promptly!
During this break before Rite of the Nine on May 6, as Episode Heresy’s story concludes without any significant new developments, Guardians are making use of their free time to finish up outstanding tasks. This includes seeking optimal builds for Nightfall weapons, reaching the Lighthouse, and even farming Gambit matches diligently.
Currently, it would be best to focus on the top priority from the list, since completing it during this timeframe will grant you an attractive Emblem titled “Break Free”, which is accessible for just one week.
Unlocking Destiny 2’s Break Free Emblem
Finishing the Sunless Cell Strike Nightfall mission on any level of difficulty between April 22nd and April 29th, 2025, qualifies you for the acquisition of the Break Free Emblem.
After the specified time period has elapsed, you’ll find yourself unable to obtain it for the immediate future, at least. Bungie didn’t clarify during their April 17 TWIT whether this was a one-time offer, but given the distribution method they’ve chosen, it seems unlikely that Break Free will be offered again.
The studio stated that fulfilling this request will take some time on our part, as we need to gather data from all individuals who finish a Sunless Cell Nightfall between April 22 at 10:00 am Pacific Time and April 29 at 9:59 am Pacific Time.

If you don’t find the Emblem straight away in your inventory following the clearance of Sunless Cell, there’s no need to worry. Simply ensure that you have completed the Strike by accessing it through the Nightfall submenu under Vanguard Ops, and you will be good to go!
In Destiny 2, Break Free has concluded as a limited-time Emblem, but there are other such Emblems to collect, like Knit One Purr Two, which is accessible only during Episode Heresy. However, even though it’s available, it still doesn’t crack the top 10 most elusive Emblems ever made in Destiny 2.
