George RR Martin Plans To Discuss "Everything" Wrong With House Of The Dragon

As a gamer with a deep-rooted affinity for fantasy epics and a knack for deciphering behind-the-scenes drama, I find myself intrigued by George R.R. Martin’s recent statement about House of the Dragon. Having weathered numerous delays in A Song of Ice and Fire series, I can empathize with the writer’s year full of stress, anger, conflict, and defeat.

Following the conclusion of Game of Thrones, author George R.R. Martin collaborated with showrunner Ryan Condal on the prequel spin-off series titled House of the Dragon. Despite previously praising the show, Martin has expressed some concerns about it that he wishes to address – but not at this moment.

Martin recently shared a new post on his official website, expressing that this year hasn’t been great for anyone, including himself. He’s had a particularly tough year, filled with stress, anger, disputes, and setbacks. Although he doesn’t relish writing about the challenges faced by House of the Dragon, he acknowledges that it’s necessary, and he will tackle that task as well. However, today isn’t the day for that. Today is Zozobra’s day, a time when we shift our focus away from gloom.

The festival Martin mentioned is an annual occurrence in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where they get rid of darkness and sorrow by burning a puppet called Zozobra. However, it seems tricky to identify what exactly Martin might be criticizing about his show, as he had previously lauded the dragon battle in House of the Dragon’s fourth episode of Season 2 as one of the best ever filmed.

Regarding the show “House of the Dragon,” HBO has confirmed that it will continue into a third season. Moreover, creator Ryan Condal hinted that the series may conclude after its fourth season instead of the initially proposed five-year run. It’s anticipated that the third season will air in the year 2026.
