I’m really excited – Alex Garland is back with a new film for A24, and it sounds like it’s a big one! Word is, they’re working with a budget of over $100 million, which is huge for him and A24. It’s definitely going to be something special, given the scale they’re working with.
According to reports, the upcoming Elden Ring project will be A24’s biggest undertaking yet. With a budget exceeding $100 million, it surpasses the studio’s previous high of $70 million, which was spent on Josh Safdie’s film, Marty Supreme. Before that, Alex Garland’s 2024 thriller, Civil War, held the record at $50 million.
Garland wrote the screenplay for Elden Ring and is also directing the live-action production, which began filming this week in the UK. The main filming is anticipated to take around 100 days.
