George R. R. Martin Teases Potential Elden Ring Movie, Probably Won’t Be That Involved

Once more, author George R.R. Martin hints at a potential film adaptation of Elden Ring.

George R.R. Martin, renowned for his epic fantasy series “A Song of Ice and Fire,” also significantly enriched the mythology within the open-world role-playing game created by FromSoftware that is widely cherished.

Speaking to IGN, he stated there’s “some talk about making a movie out of Elden Ring”.

Due to his current focus on writing his previously mentioned novels, Martin is unsure if he can take on a potential film project such as Elden Ring. He stated to IGN, “I’ll have to wait and see if it happens and how much involvement I’ll have, since I’m still working on my latest book, The Winds of Winter, which has kept me quite busy.” This leaves him with limited time for additional projects.

Previously noted, it’s the second occasion where Martin has hinted at a potential Elden Ring transformation in public. Way back in July 2024, he dropped a clue about an Elden Ring movie or television series on his blog.

Earlier on, Hidetaka Miyazaki of FromSoftware expressed interest in an Elden Ring movie, but emphasized that it would require collaboration with a highly capable production partner.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but join the chatter about the prospect of an Elden Ring movie. With the success of recent video game adaptations, it seems like the stars might be aligning for this project. Could this finally be the moment when we see Elden Ring come to life on the silver screen?
