It seems like the *Ocean’s* franchise might be continuing! George Clooney has hinted at an *Ocean’s 14* movie, and it looks like most of the original cast will be returning. After three films and a spin-off, do we really need another one? Apparently, the answer is yes!
What’s going on with Ocean’s 14?
I’m so excited! We finally got the green light from Warner Bros. for the next movie, and we’re starting to plan everything out. We’re hoping to start filming in about nine or ten months. The best part is, a lot of the original crew is coming back – Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, and Julia Roberts will all be in it! I actually had dinner with Julia just last night, and we’re all still really close. It’s going to be a blast working with them all again.
Unfortunately, not all of the original cast and crew are returning. Carl Reiner and Bernie Mac have passed away, and director Steven Soderbergh has stated he won’t be involved in any future films. In a 2024 interview with *Variety*, Soderbergh explained that he felt the series had a natural ending after the third movie. He told the studio he wasn’t interested in continuing the franchise, as he’s now focused on new projects.
Wait, isn’t Danny Ocean dead?
It’s good to see someone is paying attention to *Ocean’s 8*! The movie shows Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) visiting Danny’s grave, but remember, con artists often fake their own deaths. Faking a death is much simpler than stealing the famous Fitzgerald diamond. So, who should you trust – a grave shown in a sequel, or Daniel Ocean himself?
What about that prequel movie?
The prequel starring Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie, focusing on the early lives of Danny and Debbie Ocean’s parents, is still in the works, though we haven’t had many updates since 2023. Both actors have been busy – Robbie with a new baby and other projects, and Gosling filming the latest *Star Wars* movie. Hopefully, a stylish 1960s-set heist film will be announced soon.
