During this season, Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) looks to Geordi for assistance in hiding from both Starfleet and the Changelings who have infiltrated it. At first, Geordi declines participation, but his two daughters, Sidney (Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut) and Alandra (Mica Burton), persuade him to reconsider. Throughout the season, Geordi mentions his wife as the mother of Sidney and Alandra, yet he never reveals her name.

As a passionate Star Trek fan, I was eagerly anticipating the spin-off dubbed “Star Trek: Legacy,” focusing on Captain Picard’s universe. However, Paramount+ has opted to concentrate on different Star Trek projects instead, leaving Geordi La Forge’s wife as an enigma yet to be unveiled. Despite this, fans can’t help but speculate about her true identity. Throughout “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” Geordi grappled with romantic entanglements, and there were no significant love stories shown for him on the series. He did, however, find himself in a troublesome infatuation with a holographic Dr. Leah Brahms (Susan Gibney). Here’s hoping that future Star Trek installments steer clear of pairing Geordi with the flesh-and-blood version of Dr. Brahms.

Star Trek Should Introduce A New Character As Geordi’s Wife

It doesn’t seem plausible for Star Trek to introduce Geordi’s wife as Dr. Leah Brahms because several factors make this scenario improbable. First, when Geordi met Leah on Star Trek: The Next Generation, she was already married, and there was no evidence of romantic interest from her side towards him at that time. Though it’s theoretically possible they could have rekindled their relationship later, the early dynamics would create a questionable base for a marriage.

To put it simply, Geordi’s bond with Leah wasn’t genuine since their “romance” was only simulated on the holodeck. It is essential that Geordi marries someone who shares a real emotional connection with him.

If ‘Star Trek’ ever discloses the name of Commodore Geordi La Forge’s wife from ‘Star Trek: Picard’, I hope it will be a fresh, new character we haven’t encountered before. Although it was fitting for ‘Star Trek: Picard’ season 3 to reassemble the ‘TNG’ cast, there is no need to resurrect every minor character from the original series. The ‘Star Trek’ universe is immense, and it is entirely plausible that Geordi could have found someone after his time on the Enterprise. Given how much Commodore Geordi La Forge of ‘Star Trek: Picard’ has evolved since his days in ‘TNG’, his feelings for Leah Brahms seemed more like an adolescent infatuation rather than a deep bond.

Geordi’s “Romance” With Leah Brahms Is So Uncomfortable

In the third season, episode 6 of “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” Geordi La Forge encounters a holographic version of Dr. Leah Brahms for the first time. He needs her knowledge to adjust the Enterprise’s warp drive. Initially, the hologram only recites facts and data. However, when Geordi instructs the Enterprise computer to incorporate all available information about Dr. Brahms into the hologram, things take an unexpected turn.

What follows is a mix of friendly banter and romantic tension between Geordi and Hologram Leah as they collaborate to save the ship.

In the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “Galaxy’s Child,” season 4, episode 16, Hologram Leah spouts some rather awkward dialogues and shares a kiss with Geordi before he terminates the holodeck simulation. When the real Leah Brahms visits the Enterprise, she bears little resemblance to her virtual counterpart. Upon discovering Geordi’s holodeck program, Dr. Brahms expresses discomfort, but Geordi responds angrily and criticizes her. This behavior doesn’t reflect well on Geordi at all. Regardless of who Geordi’s wife may be, I hope that his questionable romantic entanglement from the series remains in the past.
