Although Victoria Neuman was one of The Boys’ most powerful superheroes, she surprisingly met her end in season 4. However, the latest teaser for Gen V hints at a potential replacement. Initially portrayed as a formidable figure in politics, it was later disclosed that Neuman possessed extraordinary superpowers with the ability to instantly take lives. As her character evolved, her questionable nature made it difficult to discern if she was genuinely evil or not. Unfortunately, her sudden demise at the close of The Boys season 4 left no room for redemption.
Initially, it seemed like Marie Moreau was set to aid the protagonists wholeheartedly, but suddenly Billy Butcher took out Congresswoman Tupper, leaving a significant gap in the series’ power structure. Interestingly enough, the first season suggested that Marie’s abilities were strikingly alike to those of Neuman. The trailer for Season 2 of ‘Gen V’ hinted at Marie developing powers as potent as Neuman’s. Intriguingly, the final moment of the teaser showed a character being killed in a manner reminiscent of how Neuman’s victims met their end, implying that Marie might have unlocked her full potential and gained similar destructive abilities.
How Marie’s Powers Compare To Neuman’s
Marie Appears To Have A Very Similar Skillset To Neuman
When it comes to their powers, there isn’t much of a significant gap between Marie and Neumann, since they both possess the capacity to control blood, whether it belongs to them or others. Consequently, both characters are incredibly formidable, as demonstrated by Neumann’s ability to slaughter an entire court without anyone realizing she was responsible, highlighting just how lethal such a power can be. In short, Neumann was capable of decapitating multiple victims during The Boys and Gen V by manipulating their blood, making it incredibly difficult to halt her progress, and Marie may also hold this potential.
As a die-hard fan, I’ve always been captivated by Marie’s unique abilities in the world of Gen V. Though Victoria confirmed that her powers are fundamentally similar to others, what sets Marie apart is her creative flair. She manipulates blood to form tendrils for grabbing and blades for throwing, adding a lethal edge to her arsenal. Moreover, she demonstrated an extraordinary ability during the Godolkin incident, where she exploded Rufus’ body part with her bloodbending, hinting at the potential to dismantle entire limbs. Consequently, I firmly believe that Marie is one of Gen V’s most potent superhumans, and given mastery over her technique, she could be as threatening as Neuman.
Gen V Season 2 Trailer May Reveal Marie Learning To Pop People Like Neuman
One Small Clip Showed Someone Dying In A Similar Fashion To Neuman’s Victims
In Gen V, there are hints that Marie might have discovered a skill to fully utilize her abilities, which includes potentially popping entire bodies, not just heads like Neuman is known for. A brief scene in the Gen V season 2 trailer towards the end shows a body bursting into blood mid-air, with Marie and the Godolkin’s new Deen standing by, implying that this technique could be part of her development.
In Season 2, it appears that the main characters might be compelled to become soldiers for the university, possibly tying into Homelander’s super army. Given this scenario, it’s reasonable to assume that The Deen could find a method to coerce Marie into adopting such tactics. This is particularly likely given the clip showing a student in distress. Marie isn’t shy about getting her hands dirty in the world of ‘The Boys’, but cold-blooded murder is usually a last resort. However, if she has indeed discovered this lethal method, it could elevate her status as a significant threat to the series’ primary antagonists.
What Marie Being Neuman’s Replacement Would Mean For The Boys
The Boys’ Main Heroes Could Gain A Very Powerful Ally
Neuman appeared ambivalent about being a hero or a villain, but Marie seems fully dedicated to doing what’s right, which is excellent news for The Boys as her taking over the politician role strengthens their team. With most of The Boys currently held captive by Homelander, they urgently require more allies, particularly given Butcher’s increasing instability. Therefore, Marie could prove a valuable asset in furthering their cause. Having witnessed Vought and Godolkin’s corruption up close, if Marie survives the second season of the spinoff, she seems destined to join The Boys’ main characters in their ongoing battle against Homelander, becoming another key player in the franchise’s struggle against him.
Including Marie in the fight would bring more balance, as she is one of only a few superhumans in the series who can hold her ground against Homelander. She’s proven this by surviving his laser attack, and using her blood manipulation skills on Homelander could potentially deal a decisive blow, although completely destroying him may not be feasible. Marie joining the team will significantly alter the dynamics as they head into the final season, making the upcoming battle even more thrilling.
