‘Gen V’ Season 2 Release Date Set at Amazon, First Trailer Addresses Chance Perdomo’s Death

Amazon announced that the second season of the college-focused “The Boys” spinoff series, titled “Gen V,” will be released on a specified date. They also unveiled the initial teaser trailer for this upcoming chapter.

The opening three episodes of Season 2 are scheduled for release on September 17th. Subsequent episodes will be rolled out every Wednesday, culminating in the final episode on October 22nd.

According to Amazon’s description for “Gen V” Season 2, “As America adapts to Homelander’s firm rule, at Godolkin University, a mysterious new Dean introduces a curriculum designed to empower students beyond measure. Cate and Sam are esteemed heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma find themselves back at college, carrying the weight of trauma and sorrow from recent months. However, social events and lectures seem insignificant amidst the growing tension between Humans and Supers, both on and off campus. The group discovers a clandestine program that traces back to the establishment of Godolkin University, which could have far-reaching consequences they’re not aware of. Intriguingly, Marie appears to be connected to this hidden program.

In the initial run of “Gen V’s” captivating eight-episode season, I was honored to play the role of Marie Moreau, with Chance Perdomo stepping into Andre Anderson, Lizze Broadway portraying Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips bringing Cate Dunlap to life, London Thor embodying Jordan Li, Derek Luh and Asa Germann taking on dual roles as Jordan Li and Sam Riordan respectively. This season, I’m thrilled to welcome Hamish Linklater to the cast, who will be portraying Dean Cipher in Season 2.

“Gen V” Season 1 aired from Sept. 29-Nov. 3, 2023 and was quickly renewed for a second season.

After the unexpected passing of Perdomo in a motorbike accident in March 2024, Amazon announced that they wouldn’t replace him as Andre Anderson in Season 2. Instead, the original plotline will be revised and the start of production will be postponed to accommodate these changes.

In the preview for “Gen V” Season 2, the character Andre’s real-life death is acknowledged through his father, Polarity (played by Thomas), expressing anger over Andre’s disappearance at the end of Season 1, which was orchestrated by Vought. Polarity then confronts Dean Cipher, demanding to know the truth about what actually happened to Andre.
